As you all know my child's name has changed more than once. We had decided on Miller, but it didn't feel right to me. When I said something to Jordan about it he just told me to give it time. He said it would grow on me. Well it wasn't two weeks later that he had thought about it too and neither of us were 100% on the name anymore. So we are back to the drawing board.
We have polled the family with the three choices of Miller, Seth, or Walter. Seth is my Grampa's first name and Walter is Jordan's Grandfathers first name. Well the families have narrowed it down. No one voted for Walter. Everyone except for our 22 year old relatives voted for Seth. The young girls in my life vote for Miller as do most of my friends. I just found it strange that even my nieces and nephew voted for Seth and they don't even know that was Grampa's name. Jordan says to just go ahead and settle for Seth, because he knows when the baby gets here I will want him named after Grampa. So then I go back to thinking what about Rayson. I love Rayson. It is different. No one has ever heard of it, and I don't even know where my Granny got the name ( that is something I need to ask my Gram or my Grampa's brother). My hesitations on Rayson are that I don't want him to be called Ray, I think it is redneck. I don't know why, because that is what i want to name a girl. I just like Rae better. Well, I just needed to vent about this. This middle name will be David since that is my FIL's name. Except that Savannah says David should be his first name, because she has a crush on a boy in her class named David. OMG my baby is growing up! She has crushes on boys!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T LIKE THIS!
So for now my little monkey will remain nameless Gist. Bless the child's heart his momma can't decide on a name or nursery bedding. Can someone just do it all for me! :)

I had such a hard time picking names for Abby! I love both Seth and Rayson!!
something will come to you! I decided on Caleb's name while driving 2 hours on the Natchez Trace crying because I couldn't name him Isabelle or Annabelle! We kinda sort liked Andrew, Cooper, Samuel, Wesley but Caleb was NEVER EVER even a thought to us for his name then bam...there it was! Whatever yo upick will be perfect!
It's okay. Nameless Gist will be great friends with Nameless Newbern :) I love Miller, Seth, and Rayson! And if you want him to be called Rayson, then never introduce him to anyone by anything other than Rayson! And correct them when they try and shorten it...although we're in the same boat. Josh likes the name Juliette, but I said no because I dont want her to be Julie (we already have 2 of those in our family). Rayson Gist does have a nice ring to it :) But that might be because I adore the name Grayson :)
And if I were having a little boy this time instead of a little girl, his name would be Owen :) I love that name, too! :) It will all work out! Just give it time!
Oh Olivia. I bet one day you will wake up and have the perfect feeling about the perfect name for sweet baby Gist. I do love Miller, but I like Seth, too. And Rayson is a neat name! I worry about people trying to call my Hudson, Hud (eek!) but, like Lisa said, just introduce him as Rayson and that should help with that problem.
