Flu Shot

Last night I was in the pharmacy and noticed lots of signs around about flu shots. For years I always got a flu shot. My mother was a teacher, and as a teacher's child they school system would give them to us for free or something like that. Since Mom retired, I haven't always gotten a flu shot. My first year out of college I did get one because my company offered them very cheap, and I figured why not! Well that was four years ago, and I haven't gotten a shot since. That last shot bruised my arm so so badly that I never wanted another one.

Last year I debated getting a flu shot and the swine flu shot because of several reasons. My first thought was I needed one because of all the babies that were coming into the family, and to protect people in my life such as my Mom who at times has a very low immune system. Well I decided against the shot for some unknown reason, and for the first time in my life I got the flu. Not just the regular flu, but the swine flu! I was sooo scared because my niece Emma got it to, and my Sister-In-Law was pregnant with baby Sam and she and I had spent several days together the week I was sick. Luckily we all turned out fine, and Brittany never got sick! So this year I am back to debating to get a shot or not? I have never gone this long without being sick with some sort of crude. I think it is because of all the good antibiotics and steroids I got from the swine flu. So I may just risk it and not get the shot. Any thoughts?

I've never had a flu shot. How bad is that?! My kids both got one last year, and will this year, but I don't think I will.
