Thanksgiving Week Day 3
Today I am thankful for our family cookbook. Years ago my mother created a family cookbook for her side of the family with all of the children and grandchildrens favorite recipes. She came up with this idea as a cheap Christmas present for the family. She printed and bound all the recipes and put them in plastic pages so we wouldn't ruin them. This cookbook is really the only one I ever use. Anything that my Mom, Aunts, or Gram made when I was growing up is in this cookbook. My oldest cousin even lost her cookbook in her divorce. That is how much this recipe collection is loved! So today as I scan the dressing recipe to email to this cousin I am reminded of how precious this family heirloom is, and that I need to make an electronic version for the new little ones to have when they start their own families. Mom thanks for staying up late at night for a week to make this cookbook for us. I love it, and can't imagine how many annoying phone calls you would get without it!

What a great idea! I need to do something similar with all of our family recipes!
